| Mahavilachchiya has a police station. The police give the protection to the village and it is willing to help villagers in any other form of community work. They help in community work in public service stations like Hospitals, temples, schools. Further there is a home guard service consisting of trained villagers who assist the police in ensuring the security of the village. |
